Spreading cheer to NICU families with Project Mistletoes
The GCC team celebrated another year of support for families and their little ones staying for treatment in Houston’s Memorial Hermann Children’s Hospital NICU.
The team hand delivered 108 gift bags to each family in the NICU, stuffed full of toys and other goodies to celebrate the holidays and bring a little cheer.
Dubbed ‘Project Mistletoes’, this annual giving project was started in 2016 by GCC associate Veronika Woods in honor of a very special member of her family:
“After my niece Daivy was born not breathing, she was transferred to the wonderful MHH NICU for experimental procedures that ultimately saved her life. She spent 2 weeks in their care, giving us time to get to know the staff and see the wonderful work they do,” Veronika said. “We will soon be celebrating Daivy’s 4th birthday and it’s such a joy to get to return each year with GCC to support other families going through the same challenges.”
