Q: Which of the core values influences you the most in your life and why?
This may be one of the hardest questions because I live all of the core values daily. I have learned the most from “Be Yourself and Speak Up”. Many companies frown on speaking up unless what you have to say matches that of the leaders. At first, I was skeptical but did learn our leadership wants to hear our opinions and often uses them to enrich and improve the culture and processes. I have also praised my daughter when she voices her opinion (respectfully, of course) which usually progresses into great conversation. Ultimately, this leads to enjoying the ride at work and home!
Q: What’s your favorite flavor of cake that you’ve eaten at the Blinds.complex?
Oh my! There are soooo many but I do the happy dance when we get Tres Leches.
Q: What’s some advice you’d give to someone who is considering being a part of the team?
I am taking this opportunity to talk about the Accounting team. We are NOT your typical accountants. The majority of us are extroverts and extremely competitive but consider ourselves a large family. We genuinely love working together and learning from each other. To be part of this team, you have to want to work hard, enjoy challenges and a fast pace environment. We are not for everyone but if you do fit in, you will never want to leave. When interviewing, just relax and be yourself. You have already made it to that far so you know we are interested in YOU!
