Q: What was your “Aha” moment that made you choose to join Blinds.com?
I had already accepted a position with another company when Blinds.com reached out to me. After doing some research on the internet on Blinds.com, I decided to take the interview just out of curiosity. Boy am I glad I did. After meeting, interviewing and chatting with a few Blinds.commers, I got the feeling of “home.” It was strange, I loved the atmosphere and the people that were a part of it. I’m going on my 8th year as a Blinds.commer!!!
Q: Which of the core values influences you the most in your life and why?
All of them…but especially “enjoy the ride” and “experiment without the fear of failure”
- Enjoy the ride truly are words I live by…both at work and in my personal life. Life is too short…we are not guaranteed the next day. By enjoying every moment and everything you do, it will make journey that much better. Life is short but very amazing. Enjoy what you do and who you do it with!
- Experiment without the fear of failure! EPIC words. We at Blinds.com are encouraged to speak up and experiment with ideas to better the company. To do this without fear of judgement, fear of rejection, and fear of just looking and sounding stupid is just AMAZING!
Q: Describe your relationships with other Blinds.commers. What’s the environment like?
I have an awesome working and social relationship with others at Blinds.com. Being in HR, typically you don’t have people coming in the door just to give you a hug or to chat for a few minutes about fun stuff. But here…that’s what it’s like. HR is one of the funniest group of people and other Blinds.commers want to be in our department because it’s so awesome. I have made so many lifelong friends while working at Blinds.com. The environment is fun, joyful and the day goes by way too quick here. While the work is hard and there is stress, we sure know how to make it through the day as a team!
