Q: Which of the core values influences you the most in your life and why?
Definitely experimenting without fear of failure. There were a lot of unknowns when I decided to leave Brazil and move to the US with my wife – and two dogs. And this was just the very first experiment I faced upon joining Blinds.com. Since then, I’ve been able to try out cool things and learn a lot from them. As a web developer working for the IT department, I was able to do a lot of experiments regarding UI/UX in many projects, including creating a new UI framework that brought responsive web design to Blinds.com and my most recent experiment was moving from IT to the Marketing department, where I’m able to learn so much about the company and the business from another perspective. Although I mentioned only one core value, I think it clearly shows that I’m really enjoying the ride!
Q: What’s some advice you’d give to someone who is considering being a part of the team?
Here at Blinds.com, our core values are not just a statement printed on a frame hanging on the wall. You can really see them being used on a daily basis. Everyone and every department is always experimenting without fear of failure, people are always pushing hard to become a better version of themselves, everyone here has a name and a voice, so no one here is just a number. So, if you like this idea of being respected the way you deserve, of being able to learn a lot and share what you’ve learned, this is the place where you’ll definitely enjoy the ride!
Q: What makes your Monday awesome?
Well, I love Blinds.com and everything about it! From working in an agile environment with awesome – and inspiring – people, where we have this fast pace on delivering new and cool things, to playing ping pong and having some fun, why shouldn’t I be excited to come to work every Monday morning?
